FINISHED, DONE, KAPUT!

FINISHED, DONE, KAPUT!

I'M NOT GOING TO POST ANYMORE!

I'M MOT GOING TO POST ANY LESS EITHER!

SUNSET OVER FIELD

NATURE CLAIMS ANOTHER---PROBABLY A HAWK, GETS AN UNKNOWN VICTIM. THE FUR LOOKS & FELT LIKE OPOSSUM. THIS IS JUST WHAT A DAILY WALK CAN REVEAL. WE JUST NEED TO OPEN OUR EYES, TO SEE!

THIS IS A BALL OF SCAT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT LEFT IT. I MAY RETURN TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT'S IN IT. (BONES, OR FUR, LIKE I FOUND IN FIELD, ETC....)  HEY---I'M BORED OK!!!??
I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING THIS LARGE, AND THIS PERFECTLY ROUND ! THIS WAS NOT UNDER A LIMB, BUT NEAR THE WATERS EDGE.

FOR SIZE COMPARISON--A LOT LARGER THAN A GOLF BALL! ANY IDEAS?
I KNOW WE HAVE COYOTES--BUT THIS ISN'T TYPICAL OF COYOTE OR DOG POO.
I THINK IT WOULD BE TOUGHER TO POOP THAT PINE CONE MYSELF!

COOL SPIDER WEB IN POLLINATOR!

THIS AND...

THIS....

AND THIS...ARE CAUSING THIS....

POLLEN SPLASH! ACHOO!

I CAN NEVER CATCH THE SPLASH DUE TO CAMERA LAG!!!

THESE GUYS ARE COOL--HUMMINGBIRDS LOVE EM..BUT IT'S TOO EARLY YET!

AND THIS IS WHY I WALK TO THE MAILBOX WITH A CAMERA!

BEATS T.V.!!!!
LOVE YOU ALL.

  1. You see a lot of small critter death on your walks. Do you also have coyotes and/or cougars around?

  2. Pat- Absolutely--about 5 acres of woods, 2 acre field, and Coyotes and several Hawks, and Owls.
Too developed for the kinda Cougars you are talking about- ar ar!. It is Nat Geo on a small scale with large developments all around driving wildlife to right here!

It is totally a cool ecosystem on my walk! With the Field, Briers, Woods, & Water. I really want to set up several blinds for real filming!!!

  3. You certainly see some great stuff on your trip to the mail! I think whatever made that poo must have been a little loose.

  4. I think that pile was either stepped on or rolled over to get that flat.

You need a copy of the fieldguide "Scat and Tracks of the Southeast"! It's pretty handy!

  5. Is it an owl pellet or is too big? We took those apart in fourth grade and then reassembled the bones. Totally creepy.

Kelly: sounds like a good rainy day read! Truly, that would be a cool book! Smelly--butt cool!

Cake Betch: That's exactly what I was thinking, but it's so big. That's why I wanted to look inside to see if bones and fur were present! Good call!

  7. You scared me for a moment - I'd miss you!

A ball of scat? Is that a Southern expression? :)
