SEVERE WEATHER; TORNADO TOUCHDOWN

SEVERE WEATHER; TORNADO TOUCHDOWN

Yes friends- it's that time: and, WAY TOO EARLY.  SC is home to some kick butt thunderstorms, especially in the Hot Fertile Breeding grounds of Summer!

BUT IN FEB?????
AS SOON AS I STEPPED OUT IT HIT ME.  OPPRESSIVE.....

BUT AS ALWAYS--THERE ARE BLUE SKIES!

Walking to the Mailbox today I saw more evidence of Spring, as well as an early feel for Summer. It was very windy--WINDS were 25 mph gusting to 40, and there was that eerily, heavy, oppressive feel, despite the wind!

After dark thirty...it hit. We had ample warning--about 2 days for this front to arrive, but it lost none of it's punch as it moved over the Mountains, and hit our drier air!

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LAST 3 HOURS &
Lighting strikes were up to 6441 per 20-30 minute period. That's a serious light show!!!!

C _ _ P ,   YOU CAN FIND ON A WALK......

BRIGHTER SKIES....BUT, THERE'S ALWAYS A BUT, RIGHT?

  IT TO ME,

TO

TWEAK MY BACK--HURTING IT TO THE

SO I DECIDED TO TRAVEL

 PRAYING IT WASN'T A

(YES, ALL OF THIS WAS SEEN ON MY WAY TO MAILBOX AND BACK! ar ar- WHAT'S WRONG WITH PEOPLE?)

THIS

& THIS

LIFTED MY SPIRITS.

HOW ARE YOUR SPIRITS?

WHAT LIFTS THEM???

LOVE YOU ALL!

  3. Pat-- I almost want a storm cellar! Just a Thunderstorm here can give you 50 mph downdraft- or straight line winds.

Thanks for the awesome compliment! Get me a house, and then more than my 6 megapix PIECEOCRAP--I mean Samsung! LOL!
But thank you sir--that means a lot coming from you!

  6. Whatever the reason *cough8 man*cough* man*cough* the climate is a changing. Colder colds and hotter hots.

It may be to late but as Pete Townsend wrote

    "We won't get fooled again"

You know John you could collect all that trash embed it in concrete and put the newly minted speed bumps down in the road just as the slobs turn off the highway. That may keep the trash out of the 'hood.

  9. OK then... you are one fantastically creative fellow! I love how you combine your beautiful photos and narrative. You are really good at that, you know?!

We had, I think, the same or similar system slip through Knoxville. In fact, we had massive flooding near our house, people adrift in cars. YIKES! Jeff and I spent four hours getting water out of our house. WAHHHHH.

  12. Seems like in recent years ANY time of the year can be that time of the year for storms.

I hope the storms of the past week or two aren't a sign of an expecially active "tornado season"!
