MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS !!
AKA: GUILT POST!
As I gain age, I would think I would also gain Wisdom and Knowledge. I sometimes wonder if that is the case. And I use the Words Wisdom, and Knowledge from the Biblical Perspective.
WISDOM:
In the Biblical sense, wisdom is the "ability to judge correctly and to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding" (Lockyer p. 1103). The Wisdom teachings of the Bible follow from the two great themes of the Ten Commandments and the Greatest Commandments of Jesus : reverence to God, our Creator, and respect for all persons, everywhere.

KNOWLEDGE:
(FROM VINES NEW TESTAMENT WORDS:)
As I understand the two, and taking them in conjunction with each other..I should be able to Judge Correctly (Not- Passing Judgment on Others), and taking the best possible course of action based on UNDERSTANDING as COMPLETELY as I can: the subject, dilemma, problem etc, at hand, AND
USE GOD'S WORD AS THE GOLD STANDARD TO APPLY THAT WISDOM IN COUNSEL OR ACTION.
I have studied and taught Bible Studies for 20 plus years, and still have no adequate comprehension of Wisdom and Knowledge, or the application of the two; especially when it comes to Blogging, or expressing my personal beliefs and feelings. Which is what my Blog is: (Or started out to be!)
Based on some of my posts- I probably give pause to many, to QUESTION I even am a Christian, (especially Southern Baptist: LOL) and I say Southern Baptist, only as a reference point. I have grown more into a RELATIONSHIP, with my PERSONAL SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF, (or LORDSHIP SALVATION!) and NOT a RELIGION!
I do believe that Jesus was born of a Virgin, Lived, Died Sinless, & Took our Sins; and that if we confess those (sins), and Believe On and in Him, and serve Him as our Lord, we will have eternal Life! PERIOD!
How do I reconcile this with some of the posts and comments I make? These are the questions that haunt me, and I have posted of this before! How do I Continue to COMPROMISE, and regress rather than GROW?
I am only being honest here, and most of you that know me, realize I SEEM to be genuine. I pray that I am..and make no attempt to deceive anyone! Is it only natural to juggle some of the
COMPROMISES
we make in order to communicate, as this is the DUAL NATURE that we fight DAILY. It CANNOT be used as an excuse however, to say or post anything we like!
I only desire to be the best ME, I can be IN CHRIST, and if I represent my Lord confusingly to some: I do apologize on that front, only.
This is the time of year we reflect: on our life, aspirations, goals, failures, walks, and make resolutions to correct or continue the same. Many others' posts recently have caused me to consider and evaluate my position and relation to all in life.
In conclusion: (Rounding sound of applause);
I MAKE NO APOLOGIES FOR WHO I AM AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE, AND ONLY PRAY I CONTINUE TO GAIN WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE
& IN DOING SO: BETTER REPRESENT MY LORD,
GROWING IN HIM, INCREASING IN THE ABILITY TO DISCERN CORRECTLY, AND BEST APPLY THAT DISCERNMENT IN ALL SCENARIOS TO GLORIFY HIM, BY LOVING EVERYONE !!!!
in LOVE,
JMc
I, for one (of many I'm sure) love you for your honesty. Frankly, I have come to distrust and dislike the holier-than-thou people. They are generally hiding something bigger than anything you or I are doing out loud. They would call us hypocrites when it is actually they who are. We are real, if imperfect.
ReplyDeleteYou keep on keeping on John.
Like you, I am a believing Christian who is hopefully on the path of Salvation. I do my best, my intentions are positive, and I often fail.
ReplyDeleteBut here is the thing...I am forgiven, if I ask for it, and I get up and try again.
People always expect Christians to be so perfect, and are quick to point out our faults. Nope, I am not perfect, but I repent and keep trying.
The Catholic priests who are so often called out often give people an excuse to deride the Catholic Church, but priests are humans too, and if they err and don't repent, then they are doomed.
Honest words and ones with which I can relate. Without forgiveness, we're all doomed.
ReplyDeleteJeannie, Joe & sage-- How did I know I would garner- (always wanted to use that word)- snicker- UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT from you???
ReplyDeleteHonesty IS the best policy--and I only hope that others see it as you do--My Valuable Friends!!
God is Good,
all the time.
All the time,
God is good!
Overused --but true! I LOVE AND NEED 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances!!!
Thanks guys!
John
Good for you for speaking your beliefs, John :)
ReplyDeleteWisdom in every case is the proper application of knowledge. I say proper because knowledge can be misused (think insider trading).
ReplyDeleteThe final words of Siddarta (The Buddha) to his adherents and followers in part were "find your own way."
As a Christian throughout all of the writings after Pentecost did not the writers expressly say to the effect the same thing when they said "the law is fulfilled and wiped away"
Without laws and rules you are free to find your own way to the creators being. *shrug* You being anything less than yourself is a hypocrisy and impediment to all that, that spiritwithin you wants for you.
Long story short, be yourself. God has seen it all already.
I'm a Baptist too. :)
ReplyDeleteNo one is perfect. Apart from Jesus. Being a Christian is realising that, and asking for God's forgiveness. Again and again.
RK, Joe, and Mark-
ReplyDeleteWe are ALL on the same page! You guys are treasures!!!
Our quest and ZEST in life is and should be FREE! Free to DO and EXPLORE ALL possibilities!
And still RESPECT all persons--(Except the Government!) oh and Wall Street. Oh and Big Banking, and the 1%--(whoever "they" are.) And maybe two or three Bloggers....hmmm...I guess that's about it!
John
If you were perfect, you wouldn't need Christ. You are human, as are we all.
ReplyDeleteIt's the real, imperfect you I'm drawn to, Juanny! God knows we're all imperfect...and God loves an honest heart. He can work in hearts like yours and mine. It's the proud, arrogant ones he can't connect with...because they see no point in connecting with him.
ReplyDeleteLove this post, my friend! Keep on keepin' it real, amiguito and Happy Weekend to you and your bride!! :)
Just be yourself John..honesty is something God loves :) and you are a beautiful soul. God knows even before a mere thought translates itself into action. We are several thoughts inside I feel and eventually they all lead to the one place - different ways/routes but the destination is the same.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, am certainly not perfect, but honesty is a good thing and seeking knowledge is always a great thing. I'm not much of a believer, I've lost faith when travelling, I've seen some pretty nasty things. But trying to stay a moral-happy person and live by the moral values my parents brought me up with. That said, life is full of unexpected turns and one can easily be caught off guard. Just try and be true to yourself first and foremost.
ReplyDeleteJen-- Amen! Thanks gal!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
John
LuLu,
This is why I Love my Chica in Miami!!!
HyB,
Juanny
budh.aah-- Very Very very well said!!!
Thanks for the perspective!!
John
La Creimere- I can understand about seeing things--the Real World- that would cause one to doubt--even NOT believe. But deep down-like you said--those values- that Moral Compass is still working.
Do you regret seeing the "Bad Stuff?"
John
Sorry Guys-- I'm replying--but my own Blogger keeps logging me out!!! It's so frustrating!!!
