MEDICAL MONDAY

TODAY WAS A BUST!

I so look forward to serving the community, and keeping my skills sharp in medicine. So, today--when we went to our small town where we saw the most patients ever, two weeks ago------today we saw ONE!!!!

It appears that the ad didn't get in the local newspaper due to Memorial Day last Monday. We are going to change it so it reads every other Monday- so people won't have to worry about the date. We are also expanding to another small town, where their are a lot of Meth Labs, and people who need care!

This is a very serious situation, and is big in this area of SC. Usually there are babies and small children in  these Mobile Homes, found when a bust is made. They are exposed to dangerous Chemicals, and potential explosions! These people rarely seek medical attention. We need to reach out to this community !

Sorry the posts have been less than normal but real world took front burner.

On the news front, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of South Carolina just approved a grant we applied for- for $98,000.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This will pay off the Mobile Truck, (Click on link in sidebar to see it's size!),  Malpractice Insurance for us all, as well as a paid staff member. That will be an awesome lady who heads up the Mission, who's husband is the Pastor. They are American Samoan and make two Mission trips a year to Samoa. He is actually the son of Samoan  Tribal Chief who is now a Christian. I hope to make a Mission Trip there this, or next year!

They run a thrift store, feed the homeless for free once a week, have a large food pantry, with free food for qualified persons. So it is truly SHOWING the Love, and Walking the Walk!

I have the title of Medical Coordinator, (Whooo Hoooo!  LOL), and am going to draw up all Medical Protocols, as well as write the Orientation and Protocol manuals for all Medical staff/volunteers!

I couldn't be happier!!! This is getting me out of the house and giving me a great sense of purpose. I was a little down after being told I couldn't work...and this is why I was not able to resume work!! So I could take on this Ministry without it being too much on me physically. God is good!

We got a lot of Important Organizational work done today, which has been lacking: since we had no patients, so it was very much worth the trip.

Will be back to regular posting soon. Thanks to all of you who follow regularly! I appreciate each and every one of you!

  2. I'm so glad your medical mission has come to be. It lets you serve and others to be served. That sounds like balance to me.

And that picture is so cool - looks like earth from space a bit.

I love your posts and your quirks.

I would guess that looks like a storm brewing, a bit of a windy looking sky there.

  5. Oh, God....congrats on that fantastic grant win! That is positively phenomenal!! I'm sure it'll go a long way towards helping the people you're looking to reach and it gives you that all-important renewed purpose!

It makes me crazy when ppl tell us we "can't" do things....and then (of course) we find out we absolutely CAN!

    Kudos!

  10. Congratulations on the grant! I thought making me show ID and limiting how much Sudafed I could buy was supposed to cut down on the meth labs. Guess not.
