Getting ready to Leave

"Captain" Jim Futch- our Gracious host and Best Friend!

John & Capt. Jim, backing out!

Capt. Jim & Kid-  Getting Psyched!

My 1st Little Hammerhead Shark. We didn't have any nails so we couldn't build anything!

Hook Out! Capt. Jim uses the Stomp on the Belly-"Skeet out da Hook" Method!
Not really--No animals were harmed in filming this DOCK--(ar ar)--U mentary!!!
Damn, are you SURE he isn't any more flexible than that?
He was ALL about biting my arse at this point!

Finally he calmed down (Notice He's still a FULL arms length from the jewels!)

Billy's Shark--Looks like the same one! We just passed him around and all took pictures with it!

Mine was on Friday-- Kid got in, and caught his Saturday!
Two beautiful days!!!

The THREE, (COUGH), AMIGO'S!!!! ALL AT AGE 56!!!
John, Capt. Jim & Billy
(Billy has his thumb up Jim's butt!  It's a High School thing!)
Note: You can SEE both of MY hands!

Sunshine at my Mailbox!!!!! This was the day after the Tornadoes hit, and on Saturday we were on the Edge of a Small Thunderstorm.

Beam me up Snotty! "I'm giving her all she's got Captain....any more and she's gonna blow...."

I'll leave that one alone!

Wonderful Trip- No Injuries, No Jail Time--Wives are still speaking to us! All is Good!

More antics to follow!

  3. Jeannie,

Very serious--Words cannot describe the feelings, and memories we shared during this trip. I recommend to anyone-0-if you have a few good friends that haven't seen each other for a while--MAKE PLANS AND DO IT!!!

Jim and I had not seen each other since he was at Newberry College and I was at USC about 40 minutes up the road!, this was in about 1972, or 1973. Billy and I had the good fortune of seeing each other several times throughout the years!

cris-If you ever get the chance--Please go--Living where you do- there are probably some awesome opportunities for you to enjoy an Ocean Fishing trip!!!

It is an awesome life experience!

  4. Great Pictures, John! I had to laugh at making sure we saw "both" your hands in the one photo. Ah, there is nothing like good buddies, is there? Glad you had a great time!

  5. I am not sure an arms length away from the family jewels is far enough...

  6. What could be better than an injury-free fishing trip with old friends?

  7. Dude, you've got bigger balls than me, holding a Hammerhead that way !

    ...or maybe you don't now....

  8. You let the shark go, right? I'm not anti-fishing or hunting, just anti killing anything you don't plan to eat.

  9. Sure looked like you were having a lot of fun with the old buds! I play poker with guys and wives that I met in Junior High! "Make new friends, but keep the old..One is silver and the other gold"..

  10. Angel,

Don't wanna post anything on the Net, since I might run for president one day that could come back and haunt me. I used to think I had no chance, but after seeing who got elected--Hey--Anything's POSSIBLE!@!!!

the walking man- I had serious doubts myself--but all are intact!

    TROLL

The only thing I can think of are several injuries caught on tape so we could laugh like hell at each other! Something involving blood, or the words- "Damn, that's gonna leave a mark"!

Seriously--that was a special prayer request: one made for safety!

    Heff,

    As Pink Floyd would say,

"It was a Momentary Lapse of Reason!" LOL!

    Jenn,

Great comment- we absolutely let all fish go, and they all survived. This group is very conservation, and ethical.

    buffalo,

I missed my 5-10, and 25 High School reunion...after this trip- Lord willing I will be at the 40 year one --and any and all events that we can make happen in between. I learned my lesson from Billy and Jim!

Something Old (Billy) ha ha!, something New--New underwear after catching Shark, Something Borrowed, Jim's boat, house, rods,
    and

Something Blue--My testicles after shark was released! And they -re- descended!

    And all,

That Sharks, flexibility, honestly surprised me a good bit, and it flipped up both ways, and had that one EYE- directly on me! Notice left arm out for balance--yeah--it was out of reach for safety!

  11. Glad you had fun--sharks can be fun to catch, but if they get much larger, you don't want to bring them in the boat unless you pop 'em in the head with a bullet. Did you eat the sharks--make steaks out of them? Those you caught were young and might be okay, old sharks (because of their diet) carry to many heavy metals and aren't suppose to be good for eating (but I didn't know that when I was younger).

  12. Sage,

It was so early on and we were hoping to find Reds, and Trout- we released them...I usually just cut the line and let the bigger ones go, and the hooks rust out quickly.

A lot of people don't realize the "Scallops", they get a Seafood restaurants are actually Shark, or Manta Ray!!!

Had a blast Br0--who knows--maybe one day we can HOOK UP and catch something---a dream of mine is to head to the Outer Banks for a Spiritual retreat for about a week to ten days!!!

    Thanks Man!
