"THE REMAINS OF THE DAY!" OR, A VERY SLOW SNAKE!
WHILE WE STILL HAVE TIME, AND BEFORE WE END UP
LIKE THE BONES ABOVE.
CALL AND OLD FRIEND,
AND TELL THEM YOU APPRECIATE, & ARE STILL THINKING ABOUT THEM!
I am going Fishing with a Great College friend of 30 years tomorrow. I am going fishing for a 3 day weekend off the Georgia Coast with 2 of my best Friends from High School, at the End of the Month!
I have sat and thought, thought and sat, and realized, I may not get many more chances to do this! The Fly-in started it. Now I'm going to make the effort to Live Life to the Fullest EACH DAY!
Hopefully, I will be able to put on my Urn:
NO REGRETS!

Blonde John? Moi? Really?
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't a dig was it?
I've only seen dead snakes flattened.
Living life to the fullest takes a lot of energy. I think I'll settle for half throttle. Might not go as fast but I'll get twice as far.
Jeannie,
ReplyDeleteNo dig at all. As a matter of fact I actually typed, your wit and wisdom gave away the fact that you were definitely NOT Blonde. But I chickened out for fear of hate mail. As if Blonde's could write hate mail!
Ohhhhh- I dun it now!
The Half throttle approach sounds very sensible, and in fact 1/2 throttle for me will be full throttle! I had stopped doing anything at all after July's setback- and it was all mental!
So I just decided to get back in the game!
Thanks again for all your Love, Support and the many laughs you provide!
Always,
Your Bud!
John
Actually, this snake was fairly flat when I found it in the road--I threw it up in the brush and the fire ants and Nature did the rest. I was very surprised to find the skeleton intact and had actually forgotten I had found it in the road. I can't believe I don't have a pic of that! Must've gone to the mailbox w/o the Camera!!!
I'll finish my post tonight!
My favorite epitaph- " I told you I was sick!"

Someone wiser than I said that a life without regret is a life not lived. I have regrets but most have to do with things of little import so I think I'm on track.
ReplyDeleteBy the time I meet my maker I hope I just hope I'm at peace with my life and my God and given past experience I think I will be.
Thanks for visiting me. I'm adding you to my blogroll.
