YIKES- IT'S RAINING INSIDE THE HOUSE!!
WE HAD A SMALL RAIN THE OTHER DAY--WE ARE 24 INCHES IN DEFEICT AND IT LEAKED INTO A WINDOW SILL.
"I", EMPHASIS ON "I", REPAIRED IT WITH CAULK, DUCT TAPE, BAILING WIRE, AND STAPLES-
YEA WE GOT THAT!
NOW WE ARE IN TORNADO WATCH, WITH TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS AND GUSTY WINDS! - IT IS PORING BUCKETS AND MY "FIX" TOTALLY INEPT REPAIR MADE IT 3 TIMES AS BAD! THE LIVING ROOM FLOOR BY THE ENTERAINMENT CENTER IS SOAKED, AND THE WATER IS POURING IN THE WINDOW SILL. I HAVE BEEN OUT 5 TIMES ALREADY AND HAVE MADE IT BETTER, AND MADE IT WORSE.
IT HAS SLACKED OFF A LITTLE AND I SEEM TO HAVE AT LEAST STEMMED THE FLOOD! WE'LL SEE HOW THE LAST "FIX" PRAYER, GOES WITH THE NEXT BAND OF SHOWERS!
WHERE'S THAT DANG EASY BUTTON??????
YA GOTTA LAUGH!
LOVE YOU ALL.....
WHY ARE THEIR TWO OF EVERY KIND OF ANIMAL WALKING BY MY HOUSE TOWARDS A BIG BOAT?
JMc
Glad ya'll got it and we DIDN'T. We were supposed to get hit HARD.
ReplyDeleteDidn't happen.
I guess I can put my water-wings back up now...
No such thing as moderate weather anymore in a lot of places. Ain't DIY a joy? NOT...
ReplyDeleteHeff--we got buckets of rain but nothing severe. I'm soaked...but think I have the bleeding stopped! I'll fix it right after the storms!
ReplyDeleteJ
Pat- I really thought I had it right after the first small leak the other day. Isn't water amazing at how it can go almost anywhere it wants!!!!????
J
Water finds any tiny hole and causes so much damage. We get horizontal rain at or house as we live on top of a hill. And if there's even a tiny hole in the sealant around our windows the rain finds it's way into the house!
ReplyDeleteHope things improve soon!
Our dining room window has a sill slanted the wrong way since forever. Water runs down the interior wall and ruins the ceiling of the room below. Every year my husband promises me a new window...still I wait. It is fortunate that the wind only blows rain from that direction about twice a year.
ReplyDeleteJoe--Once this front moves through I'll have about 4 days for it to dry and fix it before the next chance of rain!
ReplyDeleteThanks Buddy!
Jeannie- This is probably gonna be a new window fix, and I don't know what it did inside the wall!
J
Hahahha...I know I shouldn't laugh, but you sound like my husband!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all that stuff missed us. Instead, it was 88 yesterday afternoon and supposed to get to 30 tonight. Geez.
Eesh, glad you are good at home improvement.
ReplyDeleteIt's true... you can fix anything with duck-tape! Good luck with the weather.
ReplyDeleteKelly-- You rat! LOL--Yeah--our weather will cool off after the front passes..we had two confirmed Tornado's so far, 1 15 miles from the house and another 45 miles.
ReplyDeleteStay warm my friend!
J
RK--Good is such a strong word! LOL
But thanks!
Have a super weekend!
J
black eyed susans kitchen - Amen to the Duct tape- We keep about 4 rolls handy!!!
Thanks for the visit!!
J
If you build it...they will come.
ReplyDeleteDude even duct tape has its limitations...that repair sounds to me like you needed contractors 12 mil plastic, rolled away from the house about thirty feet and ten heavy stones to hold it in place. If you had done that though they would raise your taxes because they would say you added an addition to your house.
ReplyDeletemiddle child--LMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJ
Mark-- Ha Ha Ha!!! I did get it repair- albeit temporary--and then of course the rain quit!
I like your fix better.
BTW- Picked up Scent of the Garden Within, again- I just had to re-read it. It is even more meaningful this second time around, and I think will be timeless in that it will hit you differently as your journey continues. Great work Brother....a Great work!
