PUTTING THE BRAKES ON CHRISTMAS: And a TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE!

PUTTING THE BRAKES ON CHRISTMAS,
And a TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE!

HEADING TO FL. & THE BRAKES GET REALLY MUSHY, 2 DAYS AGO..SO TOMORROW I GET TO SPEND THE DAY SITTING AT THE BRAKE DUDES SHOP-PRAYING IT'S NOT TOO LONG A WAIT!

I CHECKED THE FLUIDS 2 WEEKS AGO AND ADDED BRAKE FLUID. THEN THE PEDAL GOT ALL SQUISHY, AND FRIDAY I ADDED A TAD MORE BRAKE FLUID!

OR SO I THOUGHT!
IT WAS POWER STEERING FLUID!!

OH, FOR LACK OF READING GLASSES AND A BRAIN!! THE BOTTLES AREN'T EVEN CLOSE!!! I WAS TOLD EVEN A LITTLE PSF- COULD EAT THROUGH THE:

GROMMETREDUNDANTCYLININGTORKFORKKERS!

YES--"BRO" KNOWS CARS!

SO, TO EVEN IT UP I ADDED BRAKE FLUID TO THE POWER STEERING RESEVOIR  CAP DEALY,, AND NOW....

WAIT FOR IT...

I CAN'T STOP TURNING!!!

THE GROAN, is free! Merry Christmas!

MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID DELIVERER  LITTLE RUBBER TUBE, DRY ROTTED AND BROKE OFF IN MY HAND. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE LEAF-ING BIG STREAKS..DUE TO ALL THE LEAVES STUCK UNDER THEM. WE LIVE IN THE WOODS, AND YOU JUST CAN'T STAY AHEAD OF THEM! I WISH THEY'D LEAF ME ALONE!

THE B- BATTERY..ONE POST HAS SOME CORROSION..BUT WAS EASILY CLEANED OFF AND SHE STILL "CRUNKED" UP IN 15 DEGREE WEATHER, (but i am going to replace it anyway as it's old and is slightly leaking!) DROPPING ACID??

I HAD THE BELT CHECKED AT THE LAST OIL CHANGE, SO I THINK IT'S OK! I always keep spare pantyhose IN THE TRUNK to use in case of an emergent belt failure--yeah, yeah--that's the TICKET! It used to work on vehicles that had only ONE circular belt--or so I've been told. I also put Power Steering Fluid in.......so consider the source!

I HAVE 4 BRAND NEW TIRES (also in the trunk- THEY ARE SAFER THERE!) AND GAS IS CHEAP IN SC, SO THAT'S COOL!

CAN YOU SAY PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE?? I THOUGHT I HAD DONE THAT 2 WEEKS AGO ! THOUGHT-  being the operative word!

SO

I'M GOING OUT from 1:00-3:30 AM. TUESDAYS MORNING, EST.--(YES IN MY METEOR VIEWING CLOTHES- I LIKE TO DRESS FOR THE OCCASION!), AS IT WILL BE 20-22 DEGREES HERE AGAIN, TO SEE A

Snider said Earth’s shadow will pass over the full moon giving it a deep, red color that can be seen with the naked eye. It will start about 1:30 a.m. and the best time to see the full eclipse will be around 3:50 a.m.

It’s best to watch the slow process in parts, Snider said. “You have to go look at it, come back in, then go back out and look at it,” he said. (The Patriot News)"

THE SOUTHEAST IS ONE OF THE FEW AREAS OF THE COUNTRY WITHOUT CLOUD COVER!   HOW AWESOME IS THAT???

IT SEEMS THE LAST ONE WAS ABOUT 20  MANY YEARS AGO THAT WAS VISIBLE HERE, SO I BARELY REMEMBER IT!!

SO I'M NOT GOING TO MISS THIS SPECTACULAR DISPLAY!

I'M GOING TO ALLOW GOD TO BLESS ME ONCE AGAIN WITH ANOTHER CELESTIAL BLU-RAY, 3-D SHOW!

. The full moon reddens and darkens during the total lunar eclipse shown in this Jan, 20, 2000, file photo, made with an amateur astronomer's telescope. A total lunar eclipse will occur early Tuesday morning.

BRAKES, MASTER CYLINDER, TIME ETC...
$250.00 (MY ESTIMATE- LOL!)

WINDSHIELD WIPER TUBING STUFF ...$ 2.50

NEW- B-BATTERY- $ 69.95 - I'll CHARGE IT! ar ar

PEACE OF MIND WHILE TRAVELING, THE ABILITY TO PAY FOR THIS IN THIS ECONOMY, AND A TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE :

(USE VALLEY GIRL ACCENT ON TOTAL- AS IN "I THOUGHT AN ECLIPSE WAS A CAR !!!!")

"PRICELESS!"

I am blessed! I Hope you are too!

So much info--so little time!

  1. Please tell me you are joking about putting power steering fluid in your master cylinder? John, that if done properly is about a 3000 dollar repair. every bt of rubber in the system NEEDS to be replaced or somewhere between here and there you will have complete brake failure.

Just tell me you're joking. NEVER NEVER put a petroleum based product in a brake system.

  4. Oh Man John, Do you think finding a different car for the trip may be the thing to do? I'm not a mechanic but the term Complete Brake Failure scares me to death--just saying.

The eclipse is awesome, thanks for sharing Buddy

Jimmy--Rental was $350.00 for 4 days, and I still would have had to repair Brakes. I got it all done today, for $200.00 more than the rental cost!!!! God is good!

Brakes are awesome! Oh, STOP IT JOHN!

    Thanks for the concern Bro.

TWM--also helped me with knowledge on the brakes!!!

  6. Woah! I wish to GOD I could stay up to watch that. That photo is breathtaking! Yes, I drove home (in the dark) staring at this gorgeous, white, full moon. It took 4 texts to da boys to find out WHEN the eclipse is.

Think of me tonight (tomorrow morning)! I'll be snoozing. I'm ready to go to bed NOW!
