THIS IS HOW I FEEL- LOL! (Pic-Courtesy if Alice)

NAP TIME!!!!!!
the theme continues.................

SADLY- WE HAD TO MISS SANDI'S 40TH HIGH SCHOOL REUNION. TURNS OUT THE WEATHER WAS GOING TO BE AWFUL AND I AM A LITTLE UNDER THE WEATHER. WHY DO WE SAY THAT--AREN'T WE ALWAYS UNDER THE WEATHER? DUH!

SAY A LITTLE PRAYER OR SEND UP GOOD THOUGHTS FOR ME. I'LL RECOVER QUICKLY! YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD JOHN DOWN. WE ARE GOING TO GO ON OUR OWN PRIVATE HOLIDAY SOON. I MAY TAKE HER BACK TO THE GULF COAST OF FLA. WHERE I GREW UP. THE LAST VACATION WE HAD WAS THERE (INDIAN ROCKS BEACH- NEAR TAMPA).

I GREW UP AND STAYED EVERY SUMMER IN MY GRANDMOTHERS HOUSE THE ENTIRE SUMMER! HEAVEN OR WHAT? AND SHE LOVED IT! BEST VACATION I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. THAT'S WHEN I WOULD CHECK OUT TEN LIBRARY BOOKS AND READ THEM ALL AND GO BACK AND RELOAD. ALL THE TOM SWIFT, NANCY DREW, AND ALL SCIENCE FICTION I COULD GET MY HANDS ON! I LOVE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HUGS TO ALL,

HERE IS A BETTER AND YOUNGER POSE OF OUR--

HOPE!

HI BRADY!

  1. I just realized that I forgot to link to you in that 123 post - I'm soooooo sorry! I was in a rush when I did it.

The books I used, I know I read, the one just a few weeks ago and for the life of me, I don't remember any of them. I have them plus 100 or so others piled in boxes to go to my son's for his wife to go through for her library. No rush for that - they have no library yet.

I think I'm going to start using the library more often.

  2. Hope that you feel better soon, John. Now here is a bit of an enigma for you:
    Hardy boys or Nancy Drew?

    Who would you choose?

  3. Alice-LOL- Hey--It was spy stuff- I was 5th & 6 & OK- 7- 12 grades!!!! LOL :-) and they were Hot- in the little series they did. Of course my MAJOREST (word?) crush was on Haley Mills--OMG- Pollyanna, and The Twins-movie. Swoon! LOL. It was all good reading. But The best was the Tom Swift series. Now that was education, scientific adventure reading with morals. I have a couple of the first edition books and always look for them when we hit Antique stores, especially the smaller out of the way ones!

But honestly I'm all boy- so I got to hang with my Guys-- Hardy Boys.

Plus Hardee's has the Thickburger- LOL1

Jeannie--No worries--I got to see what you wrote and the others will probably go to you to look, so you really didn't need to link back to me since I tagged you! Those lines were pretty cool. We have boxes upon boxes as well going to the book trade in place. You can either get like 25 0r fitty cent, He does a lot of Rap books),
for the paperbacks. I can't get rid of my hardbacks- there is just something so magical about a book. Sandi asked the other day if I would like a Kendall reader--with both of our back and neck probs. She was X-ray Tech wearing lead aprons for 20 years at all of 5'2 and 110 lbs. And my Paramedicing plus Football did me in. Boy we sure used to abuse our bodies and think nothing of it.

Heck- I pulled a muscle opening the refrigerator the other day!! It would probably be nice, but I still told her- while I can- I'm gonna hold the book, feel it, smell it....weird huh?

  5. I know what you mean about holding a book. I had some books on a pdf but didn't really enjoy it the same way. My son talks about getting me one of the new readers - but downloading the books costs just as much as buying.

I am in purge mode at my house. I've held on to my favourite authors - books I know I'll enjoy again but I need to clear stuff out as I was approaching hoarder status. And not just for books. I'm thinking of using the library again. Maybe walking the dog up there.

  6. JEANNIE- WE HAVE A PORCH- THIS COMPUTER BEDROOM AND TWO OUTBUILDINGS PACKED WITH JUNK YOU CAN'T WALK AROUND---DANG CAPS LOCK where is a screwdriver! Just like Hoarders on TV, but we have NO trouble letting it go. We just need the strength to get it all gone! I'm tempted to put an ad in the paper and tell people to come on in and take what you want!

Any way we moved from a house to about a 900 sq foot Mobile Home- just for a year! It's only 375 a month and we are saving a ton each month!!! You can't get a Crack Trailer for less than 600- to 800 to rent here, with No AC or Heat! Our Landlord is an awesome friend from where we used to go to church! We have been here 9 now.

We are paring down, throwing out- giving away TV's VCR's, Clothes to Thrift shops along with all paperbacks and maybe- I'll try to sell some recent textbooks. But we are getting back to basics, we qualified for a mortgage and now we just to find the place we want to Die in, and get it and minimality! Going to move very little and rebuy new appliances--our are dying- but they will be the last ones we need. Not being morbid--just practical!

This material stuff just ain't cutting it! Except for the HDTV's Computer, Laptop--LOL!!! You know- roughing it stuff! Heck I'm not CRAZY! Well I am but in a good way
I got my Blogging Buddies, my wife, a Dog and two great cats, so what more could a man ask for???

Pocket money to go out to eat, or rent a Movie! Life is good!

I just can't hoard this stuff any more--course my wife WHORED most of it--YUK YUK!!!!! You gotta love me!

You know- I eve heard the library rents Movies and stuff too! And I can almost see our pubic--public library from our house, and it is brand new and nice!

So far it has 3 books, but more are coming in every day! We check out pages!

Can u tell I've been up all night since we're getting free Showtime this weekend? Do you and Gary watch many movies, as far a s going to the theater, or go out a lot to eat? We are boring Homebodies...really boring. Sorry I'm so nosy- I just wondered if we were the only homebody type. Part of it is physical--but a lot is laziness and choice too!

I get winded just reading Scarlet's Blog!!! Have a great weekend my dear,

    Hugs,
John. We like to stay home and watch them rather than pay the outrageous prices. Sure hope the financial venture pays off for ya gal. We are finally in the driver's seat credit wise and money wise and we are both on disability! I don't like it, but I just can't work with the Chest Pain. So we are going to take Mr Obamas Health Care plan, and I'll quit getting raped on Insurance premiums until I get my SSDI. I hear that takes about 18 months, but since I already have my Long Term permanent from work- maybe it will be easier to get!

Thanks for reading--I saved you a trip to the library, and it felt good to write this out!
Thanks for the ear! I owe you a rant!!
