This is part and parcel of my journey through life, as seen through my eyes, heart and mind. Scary I know!!- Hopefully this Blog will allow us to Learn & LAUGH, as well as to THINK and QUESTION: Who we are, Where we are heading and Who we are becoming- Join in on my journey?....... Or Not!
GOD BLESS AMERICA; AMERICA, BLESS GOD!
Great photos. I love pebbles, in fact I have a collection that we have brought back from every holiday whether home or abroad. Oh and I love that song.
Whatever truck used that song in its ads cured me of whatever enjoyment I might have taken from that song. I'm really not a car person huh? I can not remember the brand at all. But I like rocks - no clue what their brands are either most of the time but I like them.
@ Jean there is a story behind Like a Rock being used by Chevrolet. It seems that Bob Seegar had refused the use of any of his songs in any commercials. Chevrolet in particular made a hard pitch. Ths would have been right around the mid 70's. Bob was in a bar just relaxing no big deal and a couple of auto workers who were about to lose their jobs at a Chevrolet plant just talked to him about it. They thought it would help boost sales of the truck (everyone in Detroit is familiar with this TRUE story) they built and save their jobs.
Seegar thought about it, thought about all the ups and downs the auto industry of America had been going through and 6 months later the ads hit the airwaves. If it had not been a chance encounter, something not that rare seeing as he played nearly every High School dance in the area for years before they got a recording contract. Then he got mainstream and moved out like everyone from MI usually does. You don't see him anywhere near as much as once was likely to happen.
It seems as if old Michigan Bob is going on tour again.
