OCALA NATIONAL FORREST- aka- "THE SCRUB"


GROWING UP ON THIS LAKE IN THE NATIONAL FORREST GAVE ME AN EDUCATION IN THE OUTDOORS, SECOND TO NONE!

IT IS NICKNAMED THE SCRUB- AFTER THE SCUB OAK THAT MAKES UP A LOT OF THIS AREA.

  7. Still is Mark. The Electronic Ware-fare range and Bombing range. When we were hunting sometimes the Jets would come over and open up early with the 50 cals. One shell casing hit my Grandfathers car and took off the side molding. When we heard the we'd dive for cover as that steel rain of casings could land anywhere. It is still in use today. We could climb the fire tower and watch them drop ordinance a few miles away. They used a lot of Powder type bombs to easily mark the targets, so they could see where they hit. We could actually see the Piloys Helmets in the Cockpit as they banked away from the low bomb run!

    You got those birds in flight and they look fantastic.
    I'm voting for Hope- she's a beauty! We use to have a male yellow lab that looks just like her. He was so special- I'm sure Hope is too.
