HOT STEAMY "FEELS LIKE INDEX", OR REAL FEEL!
OK, now that I'm gonna get 20 hits from horny 14 year olds because of the title, and an Inbox full of Porn Spam..(Which is pretty good FRIED), let's talk about the Weather.
WE KNOW IT'S HOT: BUT WHY?
ONCE AGAIN, HERE IS AN "EDUMICATIONAL" PRESENTATION FROM JOHN.
And yes it is true that people only talk about the weather because they have nothing else to say. Or at least, nothing I want to say: TODAY!!!!
Actual temperature at 8:00 pm Yesterday, under shaded porch-
The ACTUAL high for the day was 100 degrees: OFFICIALLY!
HOWEVER: the HEAT INDEX, which has now been politically corrected to the
REAL FEEL, or FEELS LIKE TEMP was 117!
HOW CAN THIS BE YOU ASK?
Well I'm glad you did because that's why I'm here. High Pressure forms over an Area. In this case SC, GA, and NC, at about 25- 30K feet in the air. And Since we all know Nature abhors a vacuum...as do most women, men (Except certain models of Shop Vacs), and 3 kinky guys in Vermont:
Hence, HEAVIER Hot air sinks into the area of lower pressure below. I started to say was sucked into the area, but enough with the Vacuum jokes---Eureka! Sweating is our Natural Air Conditioning, and this is best described by how bad that 600 lb person in line in front of you at Wally World Smells..but of course I digress.
The Humidity is the amount of moisture in the air. The more moisture present, the less will seep from your sweaty body and evaporation slows or stops, causing us to FEEL HOTTER than we really are! The higher the temps coupled with high humidity determines:
the REAL FEEL, or FEELS LIKE TEMP.
I HAVE DONE WHAT NO OTHER MORTAL HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO. I HAVE CAPTURED REAL FEEL ON FILM. WHY DO WE STILL CALL IT FILM WHEN IT'S ALL DIGITAL. I HAVE CAPTURED IT ON PIXELS!
I KNOW-I KNOW. IT'S BLURRY, SOME WOULD SAY! NO IT'S NOT! IT ONLY LOOKS THAT WAY: AN EXAMPLE OF REAL FEEL!
Scientists will Photoshop this, turn it inside out and upside down calling it a hoax. Just like they do with UFO and Bigfoot Pics. But I can assure you, this is the real deal. I have taken a couple more shots in UBER Ultra McElveen spectrometry to allay any aspersions that may be cast on my credibility!
(SANITY NOT INCLUDED)
That's more like it! Can you see the 117 now?
I thought so!
AND EVEN MORE COMPELLING IS THE FOLLOWING:
OOOOOOOH! AHHHHHHHHH!
THEY SAY, ALMOST AS IF AT A FIREWORKS SHOW.
Can you see the 117 in the Branches????
I hope the comparison of the above photos, showing a real feel, or feels like temp of 117, when it was only 100 will help you dress more appropriately when going outside!
I know that once I heard it was 100 FRIGGIN degrees, but
IT FELT LIKE
113-117 degrees
I rushed back inside and changed into something more comfortable !!!!!
Love you all and I hope this helps you dress appropriately, check on the elderly and pets, and stay hydrated.....
as a matter of fact--go pee on an old person just in case! Tell them John sent ya!
JMc
Feel ya from here, John!

Hummm, I understood a little bit of what you said!
ReplyDeleteHere, during the Summer, we get ice forming high in the night sky, so it sort of looks like fake Northern Lights!
It hardly gets dark during the Summer, but it hardly gets fully daylight during the Winter.
PLEASE SEND SUNSHINE!!!
VBHFATP!
Cloudia- Thanks sis! I did something that might help. In Firefox--go to extensions and delete any RSS Feeds, Atom, etc..and reinstall them. I did and it seemed to work. I looked under both Extensions as well as Plug In's and found several under a search for RSS or Readers..
ReplyDeleteMight be worth a shot--maybe an update, or they got corrupted, but I think mine is working OK!
Emily-- I'd love to come see your part of the world. It would be so different than the tropics here! LoL!\\
Sunshine on the way!
VVBHFATP,
John- (your own little ray of Sunshine!!!) Awwwwwwwwwwww.....
Yesterday it was quite cool. Even now, I think it is only 10C. I won't go out until it's warmer.
ReplyDeletehe he he it only got to about feels like 78 here yesterday.
ReplyDeleteJeanne-- don't use metric on a Math Challenged American! I will now have to start therapy!!
ReplyDeleteE-mail me the particulars about surgery, (ONLY WHEN U FEEL BETTER) since you and my wife are so close in that area. If you feel comfortable sharing that. I really want to know my friend! I just hope and pray it works for you.
John
Durfee- you're a DICK!
LOL
BBB,
Devouring the Book--must slow down and digest! It is shouting to my Soul and Spirit!

I'm so glad you explained this to me. The photos helped, too. Keep in mind you'll have to do a companion post on this next winter regarding the wind chill factor.
ReplyDeleteoh...but there's a variable with the heat index that you forgot to factor in. It's called "menopause". You need to add about 100 degrees to whatever reading you already have once a hot flash hits.
-Kelly
Kelly--believe it or not I wanted to put that in! LMBO!!! Dang I forgot it!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best!
