"The Battle of Dandelion Hill"

archival photos of "The Hill"

It was horrible. We didn’t stand a chance of remaining on the hill when…THEY came! It was a slaughter, men, women, seedlings, everyone in their path… destroyed.  Some of us Elder-weeds can withstand a lightweight weed trimmer, but you get one of those Straight Shaft Stihl of Poulans….ever notice how Weed Eaters have weird names…like they get an extra vowel because they aren’t really “equipment”?!
I tried to warn them…from my vantage point I could see the entire slaughter unfolding. I screamed “LEAF!”  As loud as I could, but no one could hear me over the incessant whine of the Stringed Death Machines.
I could only pray that some seeds remained to germinate. I guess that’s what a  person from Berlin does at Lunch - Germinate!

  1. Ha! No sympathy! Bring on the stringed death machines!

  2. YOU are so FUNNY John! :)

Reminds me of a movie Mr SeaSpray used to watch over and over again ..since he was a kid or teenager not sure ...Pork Chop Hill. I think it was about this hill in Korea they kept fighting over.

    I hate weeds.

What was God thinking? or is it because of the fall? Not the seasons - the other fall? :)

Incredibly smart relies:
