IT'S OK TO BE OLD........

IT'S OK TO BE OLD........

If you were raised on The Dukes Of Hazard, Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Scooby Doo, and you played in the dirt, got your butt busted, made tents out of blankets, had 3 TV channels , had a bedtime, rode in back of pickup trucks, recorded the top 40 from the radio on cassette tapes, drank from a hose, played in the creek, rode your bike all day without a helmet, and know what vhs and 8 track tapes are...and you still turned out okay...... then re-post and don't be scared.. its ok to be old.......

If you remember pre- Computer, the Lunar Landing, Being disciplined by people other THAN your parents--and THEN you parents, eating at any friends house on any given day on the spur of the moment with just a phone call to ask Mom if it was OK, Party lines, not locking ANYTHING that had a lock on it....

Guns were 99% used for hunting, the Police RARELY even drew theirs, we did not have SWAT teams--(that I knew of), the First SONIC BOOMS... and a gang was a group of friends, or Spanky and Alfalfa......!!!!

Then it's OK to be OLD! Age is just a state of mind---mine is Kentucky... and I have no idea what that means!

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CHAMELEON THIS SMALL, NOR EXHIBIT THIS BEHAVIOR. JUST AS IT STARTED TO RAIN, 3 OF THEM ON THE SAME BUSH CAME OUT IMMEDIATELY AND STARTED LAPPING UP THE WATER DROPLETS LIKE A DOG!

I AM JUST AMAZED AT GOD'S WORK! THEY WERE NOT ANY LONGER THAN
1 1/2 TO 2 INCHES!!!

I think you can enlarge them one more size, WITH A CLICK OR TWO.

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.

'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

I KNOW WE SOMETIMES BASH OUR MEDICAL SYSTEM, AND ESPECIALLY ER'S DUE TO THE LONG WAITS.

TODAY- OURS REALLY PAID OFF. THE WIFE HAD A BAD REACTION TO A NEW MEDICINE AND THEY WERE THERE FOR US.....( she is fine!)

Thanks to anyone and everyone who has ever worked in the medical profession.

I'M PROUD TO HAVE SERVED IN IT FOR 29 YEARS!
