IT FINALLY FROZE

IT FINALLY FROZE

ONE DAY LAST WEEK IT WAS 81 DEGREES. LAST NIGHT WE HIT 32 AND TONIGHT 31. THIS IS FAIRLY MILD FOR US AND I WONDER IF THE TEENS AND 20'S ARE COMING IN JAN AND FEB THIS YEAR?

ISN'T A 50 DEGREE CHANGE IN TEMPS A LITTLE SEVERE? MAYBE AL GORE DID INVENT THE INTERNET!!!!!

HOWEVER--WE HAVE A NEW THERMOSTAT THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THE HEAT TO COME ON---PROPANE. BUT IT ALSO BROKE SEVERAL YEARS AGO SO I HAVE ENOUGH SPACE HEATERS TO WARM BARROW ALASKA. IT'S FUN TO WATCH THE ELECTRIC METER WHEEL SPIN AND SPIN UNTIL THE BLACK DASH DISAPPEARS!

WE ARE STILL WARM AND TOASTY WITH FOOD IN OUR BELLY AND NOT LIVING IN A CARDBOARD BOX ON THE STREET.

I'M COUNTING MY BLESSINGS AMIDST THIS VERY VERY SMALL TIRADE AGAINST THE BIG BUSINESS CONGLOMERATES THAT PAY NO TAXES!!!!! WE MOVED AND LOST THE ABILITY TO STAY WITH OUR CO-OP!

DEAD- BUT SPRING WILL BRING NEW LIFE

DEAD--- NO HOPE HERE!!!

DYING--MAYBE I NEED TO CHANGE THE CAPTION- BE HE/SHE POLLENATED ALL THINGS NEW FOR SPRING.

MISS YOU HONEY! HE HE

TENACIOUSLY HANGING ON--A TESTAMENT TO US ALL. NOT ONLY AMONGST DRY CAKED SOIL-BUT WITH FREEZING TEMPS TO BOOT IT RESISTS!

WHAT HELPS YOU HANG ON?

PERSEVERE?

KEEP HOPE ALIVE?

LOVE YOU ALL

JMc

  1. We woke up to snow today. The first of 5 months of it to come. sigh

I need some of that grass for my lawn.

    Family helps me hang on.

I know that spring will come - it always has. We can only wish for global warming here. Frankly, for us, I don't see a problem with it although it may be somewhat of an inconvenience to others.

    Take care John.

  2. What does make two people in the exact same set of circumstance come to different conclusions and results?

One swallows a shotgun barrel and the other finds a way to always be grateful to the unseen spirit he knows already knows the need before presented. Men lives by food, shelter and clothing. Man lives by faith. I will never quit I will die to this place one day but even then it will not be because I quit. And you my FRIEND are of the same cloth.

  6. I remember having those back-to-back weather extremes in Texas. Here, at least, it's pretty consistently nasty in the winter ;)
