FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I KNOW IT'S VERY SHALLOW- BUT I'M NOT TOO DEEP EITHER!

#7. I'M THANKFUL FOR HOURS OF MINDLESS STARING AT AN HI-DEF TV WATCHING FOOTBALL.

IT IS A PLEASANT DISTRACTION FROM WORLD EVENTS AND HELPS ME GET MY AGGRESSION OUT BY WATCHING IT!

HAVING PLAYED IN COLLEGE- IT REMINDS ME OF : TO QUOTE THE BOSS: "GLORY DAYS!"

AND THE QUOTE OF THE DAY COMES  FROM COACH LOU HOLTZ- WHO HELPED SC MAINTAIN A RECORD OF  O-11 ! YEP--83,000 SELLOUT FANS STOOD (SAT MOROSELY) BY, AS OUR TEAM  LOST EVERY FREAKIN' GAME THAT SEASON!

"IF WHAT YOU DID YESTERDAY APPEARS SO GREAT:

YOU HAVEN'T DONE ENOUGH TODAY  !!!"

THINK ABOUT IT- (SAID IN JOEY FROM CHEERS' ACCENT!)
LIKE LOSING 11 STRAIGHT COACH?

  1. Greatness is in the eye of the beholder.

How many envied, powerful, wealthy men are reviled by their children and have a trail of divorces?

It's very sad that some people peak (in their own minds) in high school.

I don't even remember who the "most popular" kids in school were and have never heard of them since. I did run into 1, a former cheerleader - don't recall how high in status she was (to be honest, I never paid much attention - I was neither popular nor unpopular - kind of invisible I think except that people remember me) - anyway - she's divorced and just as much a nobody as I am. ehn.

  2. Jeannie,,

I like the fact that we don't have to be anybody in anyone's eyes except God. And He sees us through His son's eyes, or we wouldn't even measure up there!

Makes ya feel kinda small don't it?

  3. El Jefe's Glory Days...I love that song!! I almost went to see him in concert not too long ago, but didn't want to spend over $100 for an obstructed view. (Besides I need a truck more than I need to see Springsteen and I need to save my $$$ for THAT!)

Btw, about popularity in high school, I was known as "the Spanish girl" and that's about it. I'm glad I didn't have the pressure to "perform" like many girls I knew. It all seemed so phony and exhausting to me.

I like keeping it real and filling my life with people who are genuine (or appear to be).

You and Jeannie are two examples of folks that are real. You can sympathize and share your truth with others AND keep a sense of humor through it all. That's admirable.

  4. Scarlet,

That's probably one of the nicest compliments I've ever received. Gracias mi Amiga! From the Heart!!!!
If we would all drop our day to day masks we put on for (daily living) and be real- how refreshing would that be. It's rare that you can even find a best friend to take the mask all the way off. I think Blogging, and the Internet has helped a lot of people Social Network that may not think that they are as beautiful as they really are.Especially INSIDE Beauty!!!

One thing about our Jeannie- she calls em' like she sees em, and I so respect that! And she cracks me up saying the most regular things!!!!

I'm picturing you're new Tuck now!!! Do you have a picture of it up where you can visualize it every day?

    All my Love,

  7. Sweeti,

sorry so long to get back--please pray re: my work. They are trying to mess with me at work so please pray, and add me to as many prayer list as you can. They are trying to kick me out the back door, because of my new limitations--which is absurd because I can still work a full 8 hrs and 40 per week. I just can't pull 12-14's in the ER anymore. This is their way of cutting costs, and I'll lose all my insurance benefits etc. I have short term disability and ;long term, but I'm not sure with the way my Doctor wrote things up he may have inadvertantly "messed" me up by accident, and it's already turned in.

No mas checks since Nov 1st!!! Sp Pray hard for God's perfecct will to be done!

    Thanks J

    oh,

I am still a Gamecock, then a Gator, I used to follow pros a lot but they got all about the money- I liked the OLD OLD Green Bay, and numero uno was the Miami Dolphins- back "in the day" LOL being from Fla. & al;l!
